Big Time... What?

First off, I'd like to thank the good Lord that I am still alive & breathing today.  I honestly don't know how I made it through Saturday.  Thank you Lord for helping me to endure the heats of hell!

So this is 'Big Time Rush'!  A boy band from Nickelodeon who have a hit tv show and apparently a very large following among teeny boppers.  I was excited, I'm not going to lie.  I'd like to state for the record that they are all 4 in their 20's so when I was jumping, fist pumping & screaming like my 8 year old daughter on Saturday I didn't feel like TOO much of an almost 30 year old pedophile.

(I will be 30 in..... 17 days) Holy SMOKES!

The event was held at a theme park WORLDS of Fun in Kansas City.  The high on this day was 106 degrees.  Mind you, we were at a theme park full of black asphalt NO SHADE!!!  We got in line to get in at 2:00, gates opened at 4:00.  Got great seats, then had to wait another 5.5 hrs before Big Time Rush came on.

It was during these long hours that I honestly wanted to CRY my eyes out.  I was so hot, so miserable & so being pushed to my limits with the sun I wanted to give up.  I felt like bribing Kaydee with whatever she wanted just so we could get the hell out of there and find some A/C!

I'm a winter girl, I rarely complain when it's winter.  Even the months covered in ice & snow and bound to your home b/c of the frigid temps.  I can take that!  I love hot tea, a warm blanket & fleece jammies............ please please please bring on winter!  Oh how I miss it!

On a good note, 5 days until I see the (2nd) man of my dreams!

Thank you to the 1st man of my dreams for buying these tickets for us, for my birthday!  Best present EVER!!  I can't wait to hear this mans voice, dance, sing along and enjoy the night with my husband and a few of my other favorite people on the planet =)

In other news:

The hubs in on vacation this week.  It came down to use it or lose it on his vacation days, the man never takes off work!  He has 3 weeks to use every year and it always comes down to using them last minute or losing them.

He may be on vacation, but I feel like I'm getting the deal here.  He is really enjoying his days here with the kids & I am enjoying ME time!

We have a big surprise cooked up for tomorrow. Nothing HUGE, but our kids are going to squeal like little piggies when they figure it out!!  I love surprising them!!

I am however NOT liking the temps here in good ole' Kansas.  Highs over 100 every day for the last 6 days, and highs expected over 100 for the next 5!  Ahhh!

Hope everyone stays cool & has a great rest of the summer!  Very sad that school will start in less than a month.  My best days are the days when all 3 kids are home with me.  I miss them like crazy all school year =)

Happy 4th of July!

 Wishing everyone a safe & fun 4th of July!  I'm not a HUGE fan of firecrackers, but I am a fan of big family gatherings & amazing food!  We love our annual get together at my hubbys parents house.  All of our famiy & friends come, we chill (sweat is more like it), eat, watch the kids run swim & play, and then walk a couple blocks over to the lake and watch the big night show!  I do believe this is our 10th year of this party, yay!

This holiday holds a special meaning for me.  9 years ago, I woke up on 4th of July morning, with the nervous suspicion that I was pregnant.

Sure enough!
Let me tell you, that may have been the single best moment of my life!
After having surgery at age 19 and being diagnosed with Endometriosis, having the docs tell me that having babies might not ever happen for me......

I WAS OVER THE MOON!!

 7 months & 7 days later, my baby girl Kaydee June was born!

Speaking of Kaydee June, I'll be heading to watch her dance in the Spirit of Kansas festival this morning!  Go girl!

Here is what my day will involve:

 You bet I will be enjoying a few of these!  My FIL makes the best Mojitos!
